Antiques, transcendence, and beauty

I went shopping for a bit this afternoon in some antiques stores. I could have spent all day there. I love antiques. It seems like other generations understood elegance in a way we've lost these days, in everything from art to homes to music to dancing to relationships and even to our worship. It's like we've forgotten that we're immortal and transcendent beings created by and designed for and looking forward to being truly, utterly consumed by beauty someday.
